Xbox or ps2 game downloads

I picked up a Dreamcast in mid , when it was already well on its way out. I grabbed a Gamecube in right after launch.

I could have bought at launch but only had the money for one game and wanted Melee which came out like 2 weeks later. I wasn't going to sit there with no games for weeks so I waited In mid I grabbed a PS2, a little late to the party but I got one. I was bitter about the Dreamcast's death so I held out.

Then in late my brother picked up an Xbox. We'd already been playing Halo and Fuzion Frenzy at our neighbor's for a year though. All 4 got a ton of play, nothing just sat there. Xbox was our go to for multiplatform games and plenty of exclusives. Gamecube was mostly for exclusives and multiplayer games since it was the first we had 4 controllers for so games like Timesplitters 2 we got there.

PS2 was my RPG and exclusives machine. We still played Dreamcast as much as any of them as Power Stone 2 and Marvel vs Capcom 2 were our go to multiplayer games for years. Jul 1, 2, The Xbox was the console I got last that generation in like but its the one that I like the most. RivalGT Member. Dec 13, 4, PS2 over xbox every single time, but xbox wasn't bad, just different. But all the main games I wanted were on PS2. Gamecune never had anything I wanted, so thats the only system I never got that gen.

So the system had a few games that interested me, but not enough for me to want to buy a 2nd console. The system also had games that I mainly played on PC, like Morrowind, and many other PC ports, and good versions of the splinter cell games. I did eventually receive it as a gift, and it made a great second console. May 1, Never owned a GameCube but got a Wii. Goddo Hando Member.

Oct 28, I had too many great childhood memories with the Gamecube to ever let it go, but I certainly did have many great memories with my Xbox as well. Reddaye Member. Mar 24, 2, New Brunswick, Canada.

My PS2 saw significantly less use once I picked up my Xbox. I never got rid of it though. Oct 25, 16, I wanted an Xbox really badly but my parents got me a GCN. Part novelty factor. Some games would also look so good on it.

Splinter Cell CT is probably the multiplat highlight in terms of that, but that only came out much later. Tobor Member. Oct 25, 15, Richmond, VA.

I bought a GameCube at launch and then bought an Xbox when Morrowind came out and they came with the smaller controller. Why would I have gotten rid of my GameCube? Oct 28, 7, If not for backwards compatibility and the 3 great fighting games the PS2 had at launch I was among the few that were not super impressed with launch lineup.

Similarly I was not impressed by the GCN lineup. I was very impressed by the visuals in Pikmin and Rogue Leader but bounced off of the gameplay in both. I remember the GCN representing the first time I had bought a new system and felt like I made a mistake.

The release of Smash quickly rectified this. I was very against the Xbox early on but it did have a library of exclusives I was interested in and it often seemed to have the best versions of 3rd party games. It was great owning all three systems. Deleted member Banned. Oct 25, 7, I'm keeping the PS2. It would be an act of insanity to get rid of the console with the best game catalog of its generation.

Oct 26, 21, I had PS2 and GC that gen. And DC if that counts. I kinda regretted not grabbing an Xbox mainly for Sega and Tecmo stuff but I already had too much to play as is.

Edit: In real life, i had a PS2 first, but then I got hit with the infamous disc read error where it didn't play any games. Got a 2nd one via warranty and it happened again.

Got an Xbox after that lol, then got lost in the vortex of Xbox Live. Fadewise Member. Nov 5, 2, TechMetalRules Member. Sep 11, 1, United States. I kept my Gamecube then, and would still keep it if I had the chance to do it again.

Although, I did eventually get an Xbox as well. Strike Member. Exploit save files — EMS format 1 downloads. PS2 Independence Exploit. Exploit save Files — nPort format 1 downloads. Xbox launched its own hardware pack for online gaming, but plenty of players saw fit to alter their own consoles to suit their various needs. Modders could "softmod" the console to gain access to the entire power of the Xbox.

They could even install separate operating systems onto the console. This allowed players to keep backups for their games, but some modders were banned from Xbox Live as a result of their activities. Though the first games in the series released on Nintendo systems, later entries became PlayStation exclusives. Final Fantasy X featured graphics like never before, higher fidelity environments, a better soundtrack, and tons of voice acting.

This explains why remastered versions of Final Fantasy XII look better in comparison to other games from the same era. This designation is by no means an official one, but many fans regard it as an accepted myth. After all, even if the Dreamcast was its last console, Sega was technically a competitor in the video game space.

The reason why some Xbox fans connect the two consoles is two-fold. Microsoft also had plans for Xbox Live which echoed the fact that the Dreamcast was the first console to have online capabilities. This generation really marked the transition from strictly game consoles to entertainment centers.

On top of offering an extensive library of games, the PS2 could also play all of a person's favorite DVDs. This alleviated the added cost of DVD players for some families, as well, since the PS2 could serve a dual function. In contrast, the Xbox had DVD playback capabilities natively but did not allow it at launch. Though it did not originally ship with online support, Microsoft changed the video games experience forever with the Xbox Live release in The subscription-based service delivered an all-in-one social tool for friends lists, voice chat, and more.

It enabled online gaming and downloadable content, as well. No other console of this generation could stake the same claim. Twitch reverses its fifth ban against popular streamer Amouranth, allowing her back on the streaming platform after just three days.
